Who I am
Hi! I’m Janelle. I am a 20+ year elementary teaching veteran, mother of four, avid reader, aspiring author and world traveler. Like so many teachers today, I have found myself tired, burned out and in need of change. My heart will always be that of a teacher, but I am currently taking some time away from the classroom in hopes of finding a way to serve teachers, parents and students.
I like to think of myself as a diversity and inclusion champion. I have spent most of my career involved in equity groups and even been my building’s equity coordinator. So much of the struggle we see in our classrooms comes from a need for social emotional learning/growth and an understanding and compassion of our diverse learners/classmates. My hope is that I can not only help students in the classrooms, but teachers and parents alike, making everyone more successful from the day-to-day interactions to a life filled with more empathy, compassion and inclusion.
